Normalize Keeping Yourself Before Others

Normalize keeping yourself before others

How many times has it happened to you that you missed out on any opportunity to be nice to others? Offering help to others is a good thing but a foolish act when you are struggling at the same time and want help. You need to take care of yourself too. Keeping others before yourself all the time will erode your self-respect and esteem, and hence you’ll end up feeling very much unlively. This will lower your confidence and will make you feel like sabotaging yourself. This blog will tell you to normalize keeping yourself before others and how you can excel in your life by keeping yourself first. The following points will help you to become a better self and will help you to focus on yourself first.

1. Think about yourself too:

Investing time in others will surely earn you the trust and unbreakable bond of others, but other than this, it won’t be good for your personal growth. Try spending time with yourself, know yourself better first, and explore your mind. Practice self-love, and never hesitate to invest in yourself, whether financially or mentally, as it will help groom your personality and help you be a better person. Be compassionate for yourself.

2. It’s good to be selfish sometimes:

Learn to say no if unsure about your status. First, get yourself in a position where you don’t need help and can complete your task without anyone’s help. Get selfish and sort your things first. It is better to be in a safe position first before helping others. If you think you are vulnerable in any of your tasks, ask for help. It’s better to get help rather than see yourself getting failed. Don’t hesitate to ask for help.

3. Learn to say NO:

Learn to deny when you don’t want to be a part of something. Analyze the whole situation first and then make a decision. Remove your cloak of shyness, and be resilient about your choices, whether it is helping someone or you are asked to volunteer. It’s good to give away a task rather than do it half-heartedly. Be clear about your thoughts; if you don’t want to be a part of something, be clear about it then and there instead of doing it to keep others happy. Never compromise your mental health. Keep your mental health on priority. If something doesn’t feel right to you, be open to others. The more you say no to people, the more you will focus on things that will help you grow.

4. Track your personal growth:

Paying attention to yourself will help your development. “No one is perfect”; this saying is out of phase in this advancing world. Everyone is more focused on developing their skills to match the pace of this world. Then why are you keeping yourself second? If you lie in the category of helpers, then you are indeed making a fool of yourself. First, get yourself ready to go instead of others. Straightforwardly Nothing is more painful than seeing others overtaking you in life ventures.

5. Explore yourself:

Never hesitate to experience something new for the first time. Due to being shy or seeking company from others, you might lose the chance or opportunity to enjoy or live that moment in your life. Never ditch yourself for others. Try to let go of all your fears of getting judged by people. Giving it a try will add an experience to your life and create a memory you will cherish for life. It will boost your self-esteem and your confidence.

All you have to do is initiate; the more you take the initiative, the more you groom yourself. Slowly and gradually, you will realize that you no longer hesitate to experience something new. Go out alone; this will make you more confident. Be a lone wolf. Exploring things on your own will not only boost your confidence, but it will also lead you to experience yourself. All you have to do is push yourself and let yourself go with the flow.

6. Do Introspection daily:

Introspection will help you become the person you want to be. Try introspecting every night before you go to sleep. Analyze your day. Think about the situation where you could have acted differently and what changes you can make to yourself to make a better person. Perform a quick run-through of scenarios you experienced in your day. Make yourself prioritize over others. Take out time for yourself. Spare some time for your thoughts. At least give yourself a few minutes a day to introspect.

Abiding above mentioned points will help you to become a better person, so normalize keeping yourself before others
